Chamber of Commerce Headquarters/ Old Fire and Police Building
Built in the late-nineteenth century, the two storey brick building was home to Grimsby’s fire and police services until the mid-twentieth century.  The building is now home to the Grimsby & district Chamber of Commerce who works to “promote and maintain the economic, civil and social well being of our community.”

Once a wooden drill shed, the present fire hall has evolved to reflect the needs of the present day community.  From horse-carts and hand-pumps to current fire fighting technology, the Grimsby Fire Services demonstrates the use of changing technology as time progresses.

Doors Open Grimsby is pleased to present a trolley as part of the 2012 event that will interpret the rail lines of the historic Hamilton, Grimsby, & Beamsville Electric Railway Company.  Visitors will be able to purchase a pass that will allow them to ride the trolley and hop on and off at participating Doors Open sites.  
Tickets will be available for purchase at the Grimsby Museum, Downtown and at the Grimsby Beach Hall.  $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for children.

 Our Gate To Your Plate brings the quality and taste of traditional values to the plate of local consumers and restaurants.  The farm offers rare breed meats carefully selected for their taste and ability to live in our climate with no need to supplement feed or add growth hormones.  See the animals, visit the family-run shop to take home farm fresh products and watch a sheep shearing demonstration.
There will be many exciting activities for visitors to Our Gate to Your Plate Farm including a sheep shearing demonstration,  guided tours both Saturday and Sunday at 11:00, 1:00 and 3:00 (make sure to where suitable shoes) which will include a question scavenger hunt, a name the calf competition, and a demonstration on how to prepare a show cow on Saturday at 12:00 and 2:00.  Make sure to come out to 234 Elm Tree Road East for these great family activities.

Come out to the Grimsby Beach Hall during Doors Open to take part in a walking tour of the area and learn about this unique neighbourhood.

Elizabeth Street Pump House 
The Elizabeth Street Waterworks is an excellent example of a 20th century waterworks facility.  The red brick building was built with the influence of the Romanesque Style.    Replaced by a new waterworks in 1998, the building locally known as the Pumphouse, was partially restored for public use.  The Lakeside Pump House Artists meets each week at the pump house and will be showing an exhibition of their works at Doors Open Grimsby.

Beamer Memorial Conservation Area

A walking tour will take visitors through the history, vegetation, wildlife and geology of the Beamer Falls Conservation Area.  As the highest point on the Niagara Escarpment, Beamer falls provides breathtaking panoramic views of the escarpment and is the ideal place to see the hawk migration, as the majestic birds use the ridge to gain altitude as they travel north.
